IT BEGINS WITH YOU!

Impact begins with you. (D.O.K)

Happy new week friends,

I look forward to sharing with you Brilliant and Excellent tips for attaining your goals, fulfilling your Purpose and making the world a better place.

On a late cool evening, as I ride across town, I felt relaxed and somewhat excited because it was weekend. We approach a popular junction, where I asked my driver to take the left turn, it wasn’t where I had planned to head, it led in a different direction. Just a few minutes later, I noticed a woman who was apparently in distress and seems to be in need. I was truly moved to stop and help but I couldn’t help but feel the risk involved in doing that. It was now almost midnight, there were no street lights nor any other person in view. I drove on and didn’t look back.

Now I couldn’t help but think about that woman the next morning. For her, she needed help, for me, it proved risky. There are many people with good intentions who have stopped and lost their lives to armed robbers or worst conditions. The question I asked myself, again and again, was, in a world where people have needs and privileges are not shared equally, how do you rise to the responsibility of helping another person who needs what you have in abundance.

I realized that it truly begins with you. It begins with taking individual responsibility within your local community, it begins with identifying the needs that surround you and taking the steps to meet it. You don’t need to have millions in your bank account, the impact is often small achievements with big results.

I thought about what would happen if everyone can look within their space and reach out to people who do not have, it means, for the most part, needy people on the streets would reduce. There were many more people in that woman’s shoes, going through tough times, just like the story of the young girl- success- who was chased out of school for not paying her school fees. Chances are there was someone in her community who could have paid the fees without breaking a nail. When the young girl made a spotlight, everybody wanted to pay this one girl’s fees. What about all the thousands of young children who will never make it to the spotlight, where is their hope? What we should be talking about on a larger scale is how to make education at primary level free for all, how schools can manage the situation going forward. And while that is going on, look within your space to the people who need your help.

And when we speak of help, it doesn’t mean it has to be your money. You can offer your time, your resources, your energy, your voice, your knowledge, your connections, the list is endless. When a man is privileged to be raised higher than many, then he has a responsibility, a responsibility to drive impact first within his local community.

It begins with you, to give what you have in your hands because everyone has something they can offer.

WATCH YOUR ‘APPETITE’

“Your life is the summation of everything you absorb into yourself.” D.O.K

Happy new week friends,

I look forward to sharing with you Brilliant and Excellent tips for attaining your goals, fulfilling your Purpose and making the world a better place.

We live in a fast-paced society where information fly around and we are expected to process and absorb all, or almost all. Everything in the environment is saying something and you absorb this information with your senses. We pick up this information with our eyes, our ears, our hands, our mouth and with our minds. In a world of garbage in garbage out, how do you carefully select the things that are thrown at you daily? How do you ensure that you live a healthy robust life?

It all boils down to your appetite, what your desires are, what your goals are, what you take in from your environment on a daily basis. The question is, what are you feeding your mind with? Research has shown that people who show a level of self-awareness of their daily habits and routines, of their desires, their longings, their ‘appetite’, they become successful. Because they have a level of control on their own decisions, their lives turn out to be highly admirable.

A man’s appetite is a function of what he feeds his mind with and his appetite is the bedrock of his actions. It also informs what the ‘diet’ of that person can be. If you desire greatness, you gravitate towards being ambitious. If you desire to be rich without hard-work, you gravitate towards quick rich schemes. Whatever your desires are, it ultimately determines your actions because where your heart lies is where your head follows.

So, it is important to watch what your ‘appetite’ is. What are your constant cravings? What do you long for, both short term and long term? If your life will show any meaning, you must always be ready to provide answers to these questions because they can help track and control your life’s direction.

In conclusion: Your diet is not only what you eat, but it is also what you watch, what you listen to, what you read, the people you hang out with and all of these things directly impact on the kind of life you are able to live and the value you bring.

Are you paying your daily rent for success?

Happy new week friends,

I look forward to sharing with you Brilliant and Excellent tips for attaining your goals, fulfilling your Purpose and making the world a better place.

It’s not what we do once in a while that shapes our lives, but what we do consistently”- Tony Robbins

The important thing is this: to be ready at any moment to sacrifice what you are for what you could become. — Charles Dickens

We all like success and we all want to succeed but we are not all ready to pay the bills

Men want the edifice without getting to work on the foundation(DOK),

Repeated positive activities carefully defined and tailored towards specific goals are key in the achievement of success.

No one likes to fail. There is not one person who does not want to succeed, but the pertinent question is this: Are we ready to pay the daily price for success?

Success is a daily job; losers do occasionally what winners do daily.

“Your future is found in your daily routine. Successful people do daily what others do occasionally.” Paula White

Rory Vaden in his principle of success mentioned that success is rented and never owned and the rent is due everyday.  Success is simply a product of day-in-day-out application of habits and disciplined actions. Take a good look at where you are falling short in life, chances are you are probably a little behind in the rent.

If you really want to know the reason why some people succeed and others don’t, you need not look far, as the secret is in their daily routines. Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out. Your future is hidden in your daily routine.

I have often told people that they don’t need to consult an oracle or see a soothsayer to predict their future. To predict your future, just take a close look at your daily routines. You will never change your life until you change something that you do daily. Your daily routine, the way you start your day and your morning rituals matter.

Are you paying your daily rent for success? Success is not free;

Comfort is not your friend

Comfort kills creativity, to achieve anything great in life, you need to get past your comfort zone. Comfort tricks you to believe that the price of success is too high, it’s too much, that’s when you hear comments like, ‘I cannot kill myself’. Actually, it is ignorance that is more expensive, you’ll achieve excellence when you continuously yarn for better things in your environment and within yourself.

Everyone is capable of success and as such everyone can and should pay the dues for it. Take hold of your dreams and ask yourself, do I really want to be fulfilled, do I desire a sense of satisfaction in my life, to see my dreams come to pass. Once you have been able to answer that question successfully, identify what it is you need to do and get it done!

ACHIEVEMENT: A RESOURCE FOR GREATER SUCCESS

Happy new week friends,

I look forward to sharing with you Brilliant and Excellent tips for attaining your goals, fulfilling your Purpose and making the world a better place.

Many of us have experienced some of the same feelings after completing a major project, or winning a big sale, or making a crucial presentation to the board. For months or weeks you were ruthlessly focused on a single, herculean undertaking. And then inevitably, that assignment is done.

When we think about achieving a major goal, we picture the exhilaration of reaching new heights. What we often fail to anticipate, however, is that once we’ve scaled that mountain, it can be surprisingly chilly on the other side.

For one thing, it’s because of the emotional letdown of going from an exciting, challenging, or pressure-filled situation to one that’s considerably less demanding. High-stress situations and the adrenaline rush they produce can be addictive. When the constant sense of urgency we’ve adapted to comes to an abrupt halt, we experience withdrawal.

Another funny experience about achievements  in human character is the urge of creating impression. Not that it is wrong to sometimes want to impress but we have somehow mastered the art of impressing in the wrong places.

We have the urge to make unnecessary impression in the wrong places. Somehow, this kind of behavior is not uncommon to many of us, something new happens in our life then we take it back to familiar grounds, to our comfort zone, so that they can congratulate us and make us feel like we have arrived.

There is actually nothing wrong with bringing your achievements to places where you can feel loved, appreciated and celebrated, being celebrated is a good thing. It can be a trigger to want to achieve more, sometimes too, especially when you dwell too long in that state, it is dangerous because now you can be in that euphoria of haven done the extraordinary and not move on to the next big thing.

When you take your achievements out of your comfort zone, then you can see clearly, where you are as opposed to where you want to be. You can see that other people who have achieved even more than you are not relying on their awards, they are not relenting just yet. You can see that your achievements are only a stepping stone to your next achievements.

When something new happens in your life, it’s okay to seek celebration from familiar grounds, your comfort zone but don’t forget the most important thing is to take that achievement, leverage on it and use it as a tool for your next big thing.
