Self- awareness

Happy new week friends,

I look forward to sharing with you Brilliant and Excellent tips for attaining your goals, fulfilling your Purpose and making the world a better place.

Self-awareness is an attribute of emotional intelligence, it is a conscious knowledge of own character and feelings. This conscious knowledge is absolutely important if one is to succeed and live a life of true value. The self-awareness and understanding of who you are is key to defining and fulfilling a purpose. Self-awareness allows you to track your emotions, your feelings, your thoughts, and your behavior, it allows for introspection.

Introspection is the ability to reflect and control. Self-awareness gives you this advantage because when you know yourself well and you hold on to dreams that are aligned to your true nature, the perfect opportunities come knocking on your door. Perhaps those opportunities are always there, whatever the case when we tap into the potential that they offer with confidence, they enable us to find new ways to succeed and be happy.

Without self-awareness, the perfect opportunities can come along and pass by because we were not conscious of them. Whatever you are conscious of, you see often. If you become conscious of a yellow Toyota Camry, you begin to notice yellow Toyota Camry on the road more often. If you become conscious of getting a new degree, you begin to notice young people graduating, or you begin to notice the pop-up ad on getting a new online degree. Whatever you are conscious of, you see more. Therefore, to see the perfect opportunities, you need to be more self-aware.

There’s unlimited power expressed when you understand the value of self-awareness. That confidence comes from within and is expressed through posture, vocal tonality, and the passion that energizes and vitalizes our concepts.

Having self-awareness allows you to take control of your life and make the changes the want without feeling like you’re being trapped in a maze. Self-awareness helps you to find answers to your deepest troubles.

MEDITATION AND SELF AWARENESS

Self-awareness increases with meditation. By quieting our busy mind and environment, one is able to simply focus on what is essential and find the answers that lie within you. The result of meditation impacts every aspect of our life and makes us feel whole and complete.

Here are some ways to practice meditation:

  1. Stay quiet and alert
  2. Eliminate distractions
  3. Focus on yourself, your mind, your thoughts…
  4. Keep track of your wandering thoughts.
  5. Introduce fresh and new idea and focus on integrating them
  6. Make confessions/ positive affirmations.

The power of the subconscious mind

The power of the subconscious mind to make or mar you

Happy new week friends,

I look forward to sharing with you Brilliant and Excellent tips for attaining your goals, fulfilling your Purpose and making the world a better place.

My life changed the day I discovered how powerful my subconscious mind is. Here is a perfect scenario, you have a long-awaited interview tomorrow for 8 a.m., as soon as you got the email, you were super excited. You put it on your calender to remind you a day before but you forgot to set your alarm on the morning of the interview. Here is the amazing part – with or without an alarm, do you realize that you will still wake up and that, very early. Have you ever asked the question Why and How come?

The mind is perhaps one of the most powerful tools on the earth, It can intimidate you, it can empower you. The mind is the single most potent weapon, able to defeat and able to bring you victory. Beyond that, it has the capacity to control your life, to make you do what you otherwise would not or could not do.

It’s all in the subconscious!

The subconscious is a part of the mind that is not obvious. Its primary function is to store and retrieve data but beyond that, it has the ability to influence your thoughts, your decisions and actions based on the content of its stored data. The Subconscious is like the Autopilot, it has the ability to actually run a man’s life. The subconscious mind can engage the conscious mind to know how you truly feel about a particular decision, it can determine your level of seriousness and diligence when you say you have a deadline to meet. That’s why, when a situation seems to be weighing heavily on you and you are determined to get through with it, without calling any external advice, you can find the solution you need.

It can even influence the conversations we have, It can make the things you say fit a pattern that you have already stored in it, which brings me to the power of meditation. With meditation, you can actually renew your mind and program your steps towards success. Because the mind has the power to help you achieve your goals and objectives, it makes meditation a necessary part of how the mind can make you successful.

Meditation consist of:

  1. Alone time: It’s funny how some people are actually afraid of being by themselves. Alone time is a time spent with you alone. Being alone is very different from being lonely. They are two very different things, while one communicate courage and strength, the other communicates fear, weakness, depression and a lack of support. If we all can understand the importance if being alone, we will go places. Because strength and a strong sense of identity is birth in time spent alone. Alone time is also an important ingredient of meditation, meditation cannot be achieved in a place where there’s multiple distractions or when our focus is on the wrong thing and person. Meditation cannot be achieved when there are voices flying over your head, there has to be quietness and a sense of calmness, that’s why mornings are described as the best time to practice
  2. Confessions/Positive Affirmations: The second part of meditation provides an answer to the first part. The question of, ‘what do I do during my alone time?’ you make positive confessions or affirmations. My boss likes to call it Incantation. These positive affirmations made often soon becomes your reality.

RENEWING THE MIND

The subconscious learns by repetition, therefore, the way to teach the subconscious mind is to repeat (affirm) certain things to yourself again and again especially during your alone time – there is nothing more powerful to transform a person’s life than this. Once the subconscious is activated by repeating a positive affirmation, a person’s goals, choices, and actions will persist until it is achieved.

LIVING A LIFE OF SIGNIFICANCE

Happy new week friends,

I look forward to sharing with you Brilliant and Excellent tips for attaining your goals, fulfilling your Purpose and making the world a better place.

When it comes to impact, fulfillment, and satisfying outcomes, it cannot be over-emphasized. Life is all about the impact (D.O.K). Nothing is greater than it and everything is beneath it. An American athlete, Jackie Robinson once said A life is not more important except in the impact it has on other lives.

Far too often, we are caught between fulfilling our own desires and addressing the needs of people around us. When it comes to impact, in whatever category and capacity, don’t ever underestimate the impact you can have on other people’s life. Recognize that every interaction is an opportunity to make a positive impact on other people’s lives.

FOCUS ON YOUR ACTIONS

Actions are the bearer of our impact. Although words are important, not many people are changed by words. Actions are more deeply felt because apart from saying that you care, your actions show it. Focus on the impact you make with the small consistent actions that you do. It doesn’t have to be huge, it just has to be small and measurable. Small acts of kindness can change lives.

Leaders recognize that their actions are not only important to them but to the people around them, and so by focusing on your daily habits and actions, you commit to being significant and not just passively.

4 WAYS TO LIVE A SIGNIFICANT, MORE PURPOSEFUL LIFE

  1. Find out what your passion is and follow your heart. People who live by their passion are more likely than others to enjoy their work, take initiative and go all the way whenever they are handling a project. By finding your passion, you are better able to channel your focus and energy in areas that resonate with you and make more meaning to you.
  2. Focus on your daily habits and actions. Recognize that everything you do has an effect. This doesn’t mean that you try to be who you’re not, be yourself. Only be self-aware of the direct and in-direct consequence of your actions.
  3. Realize that people are more important than things. Be compassionate and act in kindness. Being materialistic holds no benefit because, in places that matter, you need people to speak on your behalf, not things. Don’t be thing-conscious, material-driven. Spend your money on creating pleasant experiences and bring smiles to people.
  4. Volunteer to a reputable NGO. Support a cause and give your time and ideas in a team to further strengthen your desire to make an impact. Sometimes, in a certain capacity, we are not as effective as an individual, but the moment you join a team, you can revolutionize the world.

Happy new week friends,

I look forward to sharing with you Brilliant and Excellent tips for attaining your goals, fulfilling your Purpose and making the world a better place.

“If you are not matured for it, you can’t see the possibility” (D.O.K)

I sat with a business guru on Saturday and found myself actually interested in a business worth 500 million dollars. Not only was I interested, I realized that I was very much excited to sit and listen to the entire business plan. Once upon a time ago, this would have been far fetched for me, a dream that I could not grasp. I would have either tagged it unrealistic or building a castle in the air. But as soon as I was able to mature, capacity wise, conversations like that became things I love to engage in.

The fact that I could have a mental shift in what I think attainable shows that there are levels of maturity when it comes to making global impacts and sustainable achievements.

What kind of maturity?

When I mean maturing up to global impact and very big sustainable achievements, I do not mean physical maturity, I mean capacity maturity. In the scale of things, physical maturity has about nothing to do with innovation. Physical and capacity maturity are two different things, one speaks of your growth and development in terms of age and bodily changes and the other speaks of mental development, skill acquisition and competencies, your level of performance and productivity.

There are two factors involved in capacity maturity:

  1. Mindset: Once upon a time, owning my own company was far fetched not because I wasn’t physically ready for it but because I haven’t conceived it in my mind. Once I begin to accept that certain things can be achieved, first of all in my mind, then I can begin to take ownership of those things physically on the outside. Having a mental shift is important in achieving very big sustainable development and global impact.
  2. Relationships: It doesn’t matter who you know or are emotionally attached to, if you decide to make global impact, you’ll need to change your immediate associations. Relationship maturation means that you align yourself to people who are achievers and trailblazers, you listen to them, you sit with them, you walk with them, soon enough, you begin to think like them.

Levels of Maturity

These levels are not outlined in any particular order, they only show the phase that different people are in. It may take years or it may take months or even days to switch, but we all at some point have been either reactive, proactive or value driven.

Reactive: At this level, you react to stimulus from your environment. You don’t spend considerable time thinking about the events you face and the best strategies to take. At this level, your mind cannot conceive any new idea outside of your environment, it is a think inside the box lifestyle, anything else, you consider crazy or ridiculous.

Proactive: You take time to think about the issues in your environment before taking any necessary steps, you have certain information at your disposal but may not know how to adapt it to use. You also do not have the skill needed to help you accomplish your objectives. You have the ideas but may not have the platform or relationship to leverage on. In some cases, you may even have the platform and relationship but you do not see them. You do not take note of the trash in your environment and how they can become diamonds.

Value: You take not of the things and event in your environment that you can utilize, you leverage on skills, relationships and talents to achieve your objectives. You strive to grow in value.

In conclusion, capacity maturation has nothing to do with age. No matter how old you are, you can begin to increase your capacity for great impact right now if you change your mindset and change the quality of close associates you have. There are other factors involved, include in the comment box other factors to increase your capacity for great impact.

You have enough Information

Happy new week friends,

I look forward to sharing with you Brilliant and Excellent tips for attaining your goals, fulfilling your Purpose and making the world a better place.

If you are reading today’s article, then you have enough information already to drive your passion and desired future.

My friend and I decided to visit the mall to see a movie. When the movie was over, we came across a young man who said he was selling a product that could supposedly reduce belly fat, all that is needed is to rub his cream over the belly and the fat will begin to reduce just there and then. My friend who was a potential customer due to the size of his belly,   was actually willing to pay for the so-called magic cream that can reduce belly fat, just like that. My friend is learned and so am I, which means that on a good day, he would analyze the conversation very well, weigh it intellectually, may even ask for the ingredients of the so-called cream, may request for testimonials of people who have used it too before putting his money on it. But in this case, he was willing to pay whatever the cost is because he himself has belly fat and so, his decision to buy the cream was emotional and not logical.

In the same way, trials and life’s challenges can make us forget the knowledge of who we are, where we are coming from and the kind of facts we have acquired. When there are life’s challenges, we are driven by emotion and likely to forget that we have the relevant information to take us out of the situation to a safe landing place. That’s why, sometimes when you see a therapist, for example, most of what the therapist says are things that you probably know yourself but at that time, you need someone to remind you. As information fly in our face, we emotionally attach to it without sieving the facts out. It is not just important to acquire information; it is much more important to analyse the information and apply it correctly.

Information is the most relevant commodity in life. However, the level of information you have and the application of it is what makes you successful (D.O.K).

It is no longer the lack of knowledge that makes people perish, it is now the availability of too much information. (D.O.K).

MAKE USE OF WHAT YOU HAVE

We are all informed of the consequences of late night meals but the question is; how many people are taking this information and applying it in their lives.

“Successful people do what unsuccessful people are not willing to do. Don’t wish it were easier; wish you were better.” – Jim Rohn

While I’m not saying that you should stop acquiring information, because when you stop earning you stop growing, my proposition today is, the information you have, what are you doing with it? How have you applied that to your everyday living and growth? The new fact you acquired about prolonging life and healthy living, have you made it a part of your daily routine?
