Let’s take inventory of the 1st Quarter, 2019.

Happy new week friends,

I look forward t sharing with you Brilliant and Excellent tips for attaining your goals, fulfilling your Purpose and making the world a better place.

As commuters, the pace at which we ply a particular road is determined by what is chasing us or what we are chasing. In essence, we can ply the same road ten times a day all at different speed depending on what we are trying to achieve or a timeline we have to meet. We all are the commuters, the road is the journey of life and the years that fill it, the chase is the goals we make, the resolution we desire, the dreams we aspire to.

While we have lived several years with the same number of days and months, its almost a normal thing to set new goals at the beginning of every year. Those goals that we set is that thing that we are chasing or is chasing us as the year roll out. Without it, plying the road of life will have no excitement, no joy, no speed. Meeting our goals and setting new ones fuels the energy and excitement for greater accomplishment in life. As we enter into the second half of the year, the question we should ask ourselves is, how have I been chasing my goals.

In meeting our goals, we need to periodically take inventory of our lives and determine areas of knowledge in which we are weak. Identify teachers, websites, books, video series—anything that will help us learn. By doing so, we take responsibility for our lives and also the lives of other people and properties entrusted to us.

We cannot achieve anything substantial if we are ignorant of our times, blind to the trends and oblivious to the basic knowledge that allows us to make greater achievements. We must be informed about the law, health, science, economics, politics, and technology.

We also shouldn’t be without the benefits of literature and poetry, of good novels and stirring stories, all of which make us more relevant and more effective.

The truth is that men who aspire to be genuine men and serve well have no choice: they must devote themselves to an aggressive program of self-education, self-encouragement, and self-motivation. They have to read books, stay current with websites and periodicals, consult experts, and put themselves in a position to know.

We should not be too proud to use books like accounting for Dummies or The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Accounting. Series like these are wonderfully helpful and get us the knowledge we need. Don’t be ashamed.

If we are not consciously taking inventory, we can lose sight of where we are going, the progress we make daily and how much effort to put it or whether it’s time to relax and celebrate. There is no successful venture that does not take inventory, it is the backbone of any major decision. This June, as we enter into the second quarter of the year, it’s a good time to sit and make that analysis. By so doing, the rest of the year will be lived more purposefully.
